Maynard M. Kirpalani is a Partner in the Boston office. He has more than 28 years of litigation and trial experience in complex tort litigation, including the areas of product liability, drug and medical device litigation, aviation, marine and other transportation accidents, fire, toxic tort, environmental, professional liability, insurance coverage, and "bad faith." He represents domestic and international manufacturers, major airlines, and a host of other types of companies. He also serves as national counsel to several pharmaceutical and medical device companies, coordinating the defense of product liability and mass tort litigation.
Maynard routinely handles high-exposure cases involving traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, wrongful death and other catastrophic injuries. He has been involved in the defense of such cases as commercial airline crashes, outbreaks of E. coli and Legionnaires Disease, mid-air collisions, toxic chemical releases, and fire claims involving up to $500 million in property damage.
Maynard has written and offered presentations to a host of legal and industry audiences. He is a seasoned trial lawyer whose experience is respected and recognized by both his profession and his clients. His peers have elected him to membership in the prestigious International Association of Defense Counsel and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Additionally, he was identified as one of the top 10 insurance defense lawyers in Massachusetts.
A defense verdict he obtained in a wrongful death case was chosen as one of the ten "Biggest Defense Wins of 2004" by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. The MEDMARC Insurance Group, a major insurer in the life sciences, recognized his service to clients by naming him as the 2004 "Defense Attorney of the Year" out of hundreds of candidates.
