Helmut Beron is a Partner in the New York and White Plains offices.  His legal practice focuses on architects' and engineers' professional liability defense, construction litigation, and insurance coverage issues.

Helmut supervises and actively litigates and arbitrates various construction-related matters for clients from both the private and public sectors and their insurers.  He focuses on multiparty contract disputes, defective construction claims, property damage claims, personal injury claims, design and engineering matters, and related insurance coverage disputes.  Helmut also provides advice and counsel to numerous architects, engineers, construction managers, contractors, developers, owners, and public authorities and their insurers, and occasionally lectures on various construction-related topics.  He has participated in the successful development of new products for insurers and the forms and policies associated with these programs.

He represents a major bi-state agency in personal injury and damage claim issues.  He is also instrumental in developing the firm’s construction defect capabilities group, attorneys who work with insurers in dealing with emerging litigation related to construction matters.  The team consults on policy wording, audits and third-party payer issues and provides guidance to insurers in developing and implementing their insurance programs.

A licensed architect himself, Helmut has actively participated in phases of a national architectural and engineering practice, including the design of varied building types and structures.  He also participated in the design and development of unique long span structures, including proprietary patented structural systems and numerous space frame structures that are located throughout the United States.  He holds National Council of Architectural Registration Board Certification and is member of the American Institute of Architects.
