Thomas R. Cherry is a Partner in the metropolitan New York offices. His legal practice focuses on the transnational aspects of insurance and reinsurance law, professional and product liability, crisis management and creditors' rights. He is involved in litigation and arbitration in London, New York and Frankfurt/M.
Prior to 2004, Tom worked 13 years as a solicitor and attorney in Wilson Elser's London offices. He has made open court appearances in London, Birmingham and Newcastle and defended a variety of German, British, Japanese and Korean companies confronted with liability claims in the U.S., Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Hong Kong. He also worked in Germany for five years at a multi-national insurer managing liability claims. Tom also practiced law in Seattle, Washington where he worked five years as a trial attorney for the King County Prosecutor's Office. He is a frequent lecturer and author in both German and English on liability, risk management and other topics related to balance sheet protection. He is Chairman of the firm's European Practice Group.
