Adam R. Bialek is a Partner in the New York and White Plains offices and is co-chair of the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group. His practice focuses on intellectual property, internet law, data security and privacy, commercial litigation, small business general counsel work, construction liability, general liability and insurance law.
Adam actively counsels clients in intellectual property rights planning and execution, including registration and licensing of trademarks, preparation of license agreements for software and other works, and brand building. He audits company practices and websites for compliance with state and federal law, and prepares internet related documents (Terms of Use, Privacy Policies, and Terms of Sale documents). He also consults and resolves issues involving privacy and data security. As a litigator, Adam effectively resolves infringement actions for both rights holders and defendants. His intellectual property litigation experience includes copyright, trademark, trade dress, trade secret and patent infringement matters, data breaches, domain name disputes, and complex international counterfeiting matters.
Adam has served as outside general counsel for several small businesses, including manufacturing and service-oriented clients, including an international networking organization, several internet businesses, manufacturing companies and water purification companies. He has assisted in obtaining economic development grants and benefits in several states in an effort to help grow his clients' businesses. Additionally, he has resolved disputes among feuding partners and has been part of several restructurings. Adam is a panel arbitrator for Arbitration Services, Inc. and engages in mediations and arbitration. He also operates a public charity for the prevention of neural tube birth defects and is a member of the Board of Regents for Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, N.Y.
