Jason Waters is an experienced trial attorney who has defended product liability, toxic tort and commercial cases throughout the United States. He has significant courtroom experience and is adept at handling complex, high-risk cases as well as managing large defense teams in prolonged litigation.

Jason has handled a broad range of complex product liability litigation. He has specific experience representing automotive and marine manufacturers and has defended a wide variety of consumer products, including computers, cell phones, microwaves, bicycles, lawn and garden equipment, yachts and recreational watercraft. He also has handled numerous cases involving industrial products, such as injection molding machines, labeling equipment, ventilation systems and boilers as well as specialty products, such as plumbing components, roller coasters, automatic train control systems and prefabricated metal buildings.
Jason has significant nationwide experience in toxic tort litigation. He has handled numerous cases alleging exposure to asbestos, benzene, carbon monoxide, industrial pollutants, lead paint and other compounds. He has represented a major insurer in hundreds of claims arising from exposures to food flavorings. Jason manages the defense portfolio of a mechanical contractor sued in more than 10,000 asbestos cases. He also has defended complex matters alleging adverse reactions to nutritional supplements.
Jason has considerable experience handling complex transportation matters. He has been one of the lead attorneys defending a large metropolitan transit authority in numerous personal injury cases arising from the collision of two trains. He also has represented an interstate carrier in a complex placard liability matter and defended several food and beverage distributors in Washington, D.C. and Virginia in personal injury and property damage matters.

Jason has defended a wide variety of catastrophic injury, commercial and professional liability claims. He has represented utility companies in complex emergency response-time cases, as well as architects, engineers and attorneys in professional liability matters. Jason also has substantial experience representing educational institutions in general liability and civil rights matters.
Jason has substantial experience managing the collection, review and production of electronically stored information. During a recent case, Jason supervised collection, review, and production of more than 3 million pages of material. He is a member of the Sedona Conference’s Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production.
Defended major metropolitan transit authority in federal investigation and numerous personal injury actions arising from a catastrophic train accident.
Has supervised defense portfolio of mechanical contractor sued in more than 10,000 asbestos claims in Baltimore, MD.
Served as national coordinating counsel for a major insurer in more than 400 claims arising throughout the United States from exposures to diacetyl in popcorn butter flavoring.
Successfully defended nutritional supplements manufacturer in complex product liability litigation alleging that the client’s products caused total liver failure.
Defended major university in two complex civil rights actions arising from sexual misconduct of current and former students.
Obtained dismissal of French corporation sued in the United States in connection with a fatal fire onboard an overnight train from Paris to Munich on forum non conveniens and res judicata grounds.
Represented an automotive parts manufacturer in a $20 million trade-secret misappropriation case.
