Julie A. Tyk Of Counsel




Julie Tyk concentrates her practice in medical malpractice, health care, aviation, transportation litigation, premises liability and product liability. Julie has litigated civil matters in federal and state jurisdictions and in state administrative actions involving professional licensure and discipline. She has successfully tried multiple cases to jury verdict.

Julie has experience representing physicians, hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, nurses and other health care providers across the state of Florida in matters involving professional liability, risk management, general liability and premises liability. Julie assists organizations and individual medical providers in navigating the federal and state health care regulatory environment in such areas as the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, HIPAA, HITECH, state patient self-referral laws and state patient brokering laws.

In addition, Julie has experience with aviation matters in federal and state courts and with the American Arbitration Association. She has defended matters involving aviation schools, private aircraft, aircraft maintenance and completion centers, and seaplanes and amphibious aircraft.

Drawing on her experience with surface transportation matters, Julie defends national long-haul trucking companies, taxi fleets, corporate automobiles and tow truck companies in catastrophic personal injury, uninsured motorist and wrongful death cases.

Before receiving her law degree, Julie worked as a paralegal for seven years in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability, aviation and wrongful death cases. While in law school, she was a law clerk for in-house counsel at one of Orlando's largest hospital systems. Julie also gained valuable trial experience as an assistant state attorney for the State Attorney’s Office, Ninth Judicial Circuit.
