Michelle Bergman’s practice focuses primarily on employment-related matters. She provides advice and counsel to employers on disputes arising out of the employment relationship. Michelle also represents schools and universities on employment- or student-related cases. Michelle has extensive experience defending corporate and individual clients in administrative and judicial proceedings (state and federal court), litigating a wide range of claims, including discrimination, harassment, whistleblower protection, retaliation and wrongful termination. Michelle has also litigated contract and business tort claims in the employment or general liability context.
Before joining Wilson Elser, Michelle worked for a boutique employment law firm representing and counseling employees. Michelle also practiced as a commercial litigator and continues to draw from this experience in representing clients on general liability matters.
In addition, Michelle was chosen by a previous employer to spend a six-month secondment as a Special Assistant Attorney General at the D.C. Office of the Attorney General, Public Safety Division, Juvenile Section. During her secondment, Michelle gained invaluable courtroom experience as a prosecutor on behalf of the District of Columbia.
