Additionally, we provide international scope through our network of affiliate firms in France, Germany and Mexico.
We are committed to being the leading law firm in our core practice areas. To accomplish this, we seek to hire only the best and the brightest candidates. We offer a professional and positive work environment where individuals can strive for excellence and enjoy a long-lasting, fulfilling career.
Our Legal Assistant Department consists of litigation legal assistants, legal nurse consultants and legal assistant clerks. They assist our attorneys in document review and production, general litigation support, discovery and trial preparation, as well as a variety of other related litigation tasks.
Legal Assistant Clerk
Legal assistant clerks perform a variety of moderately complex clerical or administrative tasks under the supervision of an attorney or a designated litigation paralegal. In addition, the legal assistant clerk can perform certain routine tasks under close supervision.
Legal Nurse Consultant
Legal nurse consultants primarily assist in medical malpractice cases and in the damages issues in bodily injury claims. The nurse consultant's primary responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing and interpreting medical records, literature and documents; preparation of reports and memorandums; performing medical research; advising on medical issues; summarizing medical records and literature; identifying experts and securing their service; and consulting with experts and preparing them for depositions and trial testimony. Nurse consultants also coordinate physical exams, assist in obtaining medical and other records and documents, prepare trial exhibits, and attend trials and monitor proceedings.
Litigation Legal Assistant
Under the supervision of an attorney, litigation legal assistants perform work of a substantive nature requiring knowledge of legal concepts and civil practice rules. In that role, legal assistants help coordinate document productions; obtain, examine, identify and analyze records and documents; summarize transcripts; prepare records for expert review; draft boilerplate legal documents; prepare exhibits to motions and pleadings; perform records retrieval; prepare prescribed interrogatories; maintain and update files; prepare indices and chronologies; review documents for accuracy; summarize and compile comparative data; conform information; manage databases; and interface with courts and other agencies.
Litigation Support Department
The firm's Litigation Support Department has been built around best-of-breed legal technology platforms. Our electronic document management software allows our attorneys and legal assistants to review documents more efficiently and allows the litigation team to quickly identify case-critical documents. Documents are scanned and coded, virtually eliminating the need for making multiple copies. Once the documents are placed in our litigation support database, they are easily searched and retrieved. Electronic "briefcases" of relevant documents can be created, loaded onto laptop computers, and brought to depositions, conferences, hearings and trials. The firm can also load these electronic documents into a web-based repository so that our clients and experts can assist the litigation team by reviewing documents online.
The Litigation Support Department also provides trial and hearing presentation services. We can load exhibits, photographs, videos, depositions and other demonstrative evidence into a trial presentation software platform and deploy them in the court or hearing room at a fraction of the cost charged by outside consultants. This provides for more interesting and effective trial presentations for both judge and jury.
