Fill Her Shoes

Villanova University School of Law’s Women Student Leadership Program

Date: September 20, 2012
Location: Villanova, PA

Kathleen Wilkinson (Partner-Philadelphia) will be the keynote speaker at Villanova University School of Law’s women student leadership program, “Fill Her Shoes,” on Thursday, September 20, 2012. The event, which is open to law and pre-law students, is a dynamic, interactive leadership education program created by the nonprofit organization Learning to Lead. Its mission is to ensure that students have the key life and leadership skills to pursue their goals and dreams.

Participants will have the opportunity to interact with attorneys to learn best practices and skills and will learn the leadership skills necessary to “help fill the shoes” of current women leader-attorneys. Students will learn skills that are relevant and timely to their current goals including communication, leadership styles, positive risk taking, networking, overcoming challenges and teamwork.

Wilson Elser has also committed to sponsoring four students to attend the event. Ms. Wilkinson was asked to be the keynote speaker, because the director of Learning to Lead said that “they need an accomplished woman, who has succeeded in leadership positions in law and elsewhere, and who is committed to nurturing upcoming young women attorneys.” Ms. Wilkinson is not only a leader within Wilson Elser but she is also a leader within the greater legal community. Currently chancellor-elect of the Philadelphia Bar Association, she will assume the position of chancellor in January 2013.
