Jana S. Farmer (Partner-White Plains, NY) of Wilson Elser’s Art Law Practice will join a panel discussion focusing on the potential threat of artificial intelligence to the arts and the creative process. “AI’s Threat to the Arts: Legal Concerns to Creativity” will take place on February 21, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Hofstra Law School in Hempstead, New York. Topics include copyright infringement, intellectual property and possible legal implications. After a Q&A, the event will adjourn to the Emily Lowe Gallery to view the exhibition Les Visionnaires in the Modernist Spiritand an informal conversation with the panelists. Other panelists include Russel S. Chun, Associate Professor of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations at Hofstra University; Tim O'Brien, illustrator and artist with work displayed on the covers of noted publications; and Neal Platt, founding partner of Shwal and Platt and Adjunct Professor at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.
