Alex Kaplan Associate




Alex Kaplan assists clients in preventing, mitigating and managing exposure through risk, crises and litigation management. Working through the firm’s dynamic operating model, he draws on the collective experience and resources of the entire firm in realizing desired legal outcomes. Alex believes that precise advocacy is effective advocacy, and that well-informed, reasonable arguments are more persuasive than reactive tactics.

Alex’s educational background and legal practice cover a range of business litigation and transactional matters, including employment and labor, corporate finance, commercial paper, business organizations, corporate bankruptcy and reorganization, antitrust, taxation and contract drafting. He has litigated many individual and multi-plaintiff employment disputes involving a variety of claims, including claims brought under California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act, the California Labor Code, Unfair Competition Law or Private Attorneys General Act, and the common law or the Fair Labor Standards Act. Alex has compelled many court actions into arbitration pursuant to written agreements and successfully disposed of claims at the pleading stage and on motions for summary judgment. In addition, he provides employment-related advice and counsel and helps resolve disputes before they are filed.

Alex served as a law clerk with the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Sex Crimes Division, and two consecutive summers as a judicial extern at Los Angeles Superior Court, one with the Honorable Mitchell L. Beckloff and one with the Honorable Roy Paul.
