Andrene Fairweather is primarily involved as claims, coverage and monitoring counsel for international and domestic insurers in connection with lawyers’ professional liability, miscellaneous professional liability, employment practices liability and directors and officers insurance matters. As a member of the firm’s Program Management team, she focuses on claim management, insurance coverage and analysis, and risk management. Prior to joining the firm, Andrene handled employment practices liability matters for an insurance company.

Andrene interned with federal and state court judges and had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain as an undergraduate. During law school, she traveled to Jamaica to provide legal services. Persistence, attention to detail, and superior organizational and negotiating skills give her an edge in discerning the facts of a case as well as the scope and issues posed in prioritizing strategies.

Program Management

Tapping into this dedicated practice area within the firm, Andrene evaluates and investigates claims, offers opinions on coverage, issues coverage positions, retains and manages counsel for insureds, budgets and manages litigation expenses, and makes reserve recommendations. Her accomplished negotiating skills provide leverage and enhance cost-effective resolution of claims.

Insurance Coverage
Andrene handles claims brought by customers against professionals and those acting in various positions of trust, such as fiduciaries and trustees. As dictated by a client’s needs, she works “cross-practice” with other functional areas within our firm. These resources can be brought to bear to assist with the growing number of challenges that arise in various facets of a case, including cyber risk, privacy rights, employment law, management liability, government affairs, unfair competition, class actions and commercial/transactional services.

Employment & Labor
Assisting clients comprising private- and public-sector employers, Andrene is skilled in all aspects of federal and state employment discrimination laws. She handles cases arising under all state and federal fair employment practices statutes and assists her clients when they appear before such administrative and judicial tribunals as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board or the U.S. Department of Labor, in addition to state and federal administrative agencies and courts.
