Angela Avent is a defense attorney focused on labor and employment, medical malpractice and commercial business litigation. Angela also has experience with transportation and personal injury defense. In each instance, Angela holds the clients’ needs as her top priority and keeps them involved and updated throughout the litigation process. In addition to participating as first and second chair in multiple bench and jury trials throughout Texas, Angela has extensive experience in negotiating matters formally and informally and she is always looking for the most cost-effective resolutions for her clients.
As a staff counsel for an insurance defense firm, Angela independently managed numerous cases from referral to settlement or verdict. This included answering and propounding discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, and preparing for and taking depositions, including those of experts. Later, Angela joined a firm dedicated to defending transportation cases and further sharpened her litigation skills, making her a force in both oral and written advocacy.
While attending law school in North Carolina, Angela developed a passion for being in the courtroom when she interned at the local District Attorney’s Office. Later, she became a member of her law school’s Trial Advocacy Honor Board, and since that time, Angela is committed to bringing the same tenacity and determination developed over the years to each case. She is a dependable teammate who focuses on the intricate details of each matter and looks for the best way to resolve her clients’ issues by saving them time and money.
