Charley Grimes is a trial attorney with 22 years of experience representing corporate clients in all phases of high-exposure litigation. Charley has extensive jury trial experience, having tried numerous cases to verdict in state and federal courts. His practice primarily includes transportation and general casualty litigation. On the transportation side, Charley focuses on providing representation to motor carriers and commercial vehicle operators in personal injury actions. His transportation practice also includes providing rapid, post-accident emergency response services to his clients. On the casualty side, Charley represents insurers and their insureds in personal injury and property damage actions.

Through his transportation practice, Charley has handled litigation arising from all types of vehicular accidents, including those involving motorcycles, ATVs, golf carts, automobiles and commercial motor vehicles. Additionally, for nearly two decades Charley has represented railroad operators and other clients affiliated with the railroad industry. He has extensive experience with railroad grade crossing and derailment cases as well as traumatic injury and occupational exposure claims arising under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA).

Additionally, Charley has specialized knowledge and years of experience in the fields of products liability, toxic torts/exposures and premises liability.

Represented motor carriers in numerous serious injury and wrongful death cases.  Successfully mediated and/or negotiated favorable settlements for motor carriers throughout Alabama. 

Won a defense verdict for a railroad company arising from a quadruple fatality grade crossing accident. 

Secured dismissal of plaintiff’s claims against a motor carrier involving spinal injuries and multiple surgeries. 

Successfully defended a railroad company against a Federal Employers' Liability Act claim for injuries received by employee in an on-the-job grade crossing collision.

Obtained defense verdicts on behalf of a railroad company in multiple occupational disease actions brought under the Federal Employers' Liability Act.

Obtained summary judgment for motor carrier in personal injury action involving passenger’s fall from tractor.
