Christopher W. Hofmann Associate




Christopher Hofmann defends hospitals, physicians and other health care providers in complex medical malpractice actions and nursing home negligence claims. Christopher handles all phases of litigation from inception of a claim up to trial. He also has broad experience with substantive motion practice, including the authorship of several favorable dispositive motions, and has successfully argued various motions in New York State Supreme Court. 

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Christopher worked at a New York law firm specializing in medical malpractice, long-term care and general liability. He also was a member of his firm's mental health law practice and regularly appeared as sole counsel in New York State Supreme Court for involuntary psychiatric treatment and retention hearings and Kendra's Law applications (assisted outpatient treatment), and handled all other civil litigation and negotiation specific to mental hygiene and/or substance abuse matters. 

While pursuing his legal education, Christopher gained experience at the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York and Fiduciary Trust Company International.
