Daniel Anello Associate




Dan Anello is a native San Diegan with extensive contacts in the Southern California business community. His practice centers on admiralty & marine, commercial litigation and construction matters.

Prior to attending law school, Dan worked in commercial construction as a project manager for nearly 10 years. In that role, he successfully managed every facet of construction on large military, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and private development projects, from contracting to close out. Dan worked in the field managing all self-performed work with his crews in addition to overall management of each project. At the same time, Dan held a LEED AP license in building design and construction, ultimately certifying all of his projects LEED Gold or Silver. Dan’s extensive construction and contracting experience make him a valuable asset for his clients within the construction field in transactions, breach of contract issues, dispute resolution and litigation matters.

During law school, Dan worked with a national plaintiffs’ law firm as an operations manager, and served as a law clerk for a local criminal defense firm handling state and federal cases. After graduation, Dan clerked with a local civil defense firm handling construction litigation issues and professional malpractice claims. Thereafter, Dan operated as a solo practitioner providing transactional and litigation support for small businesses, corporations and general contractors.

Dan’s extensive contacts in the Southern California and West Coast fishing fleet, open his practice to include defense of claims arising within the boating, cruise line and fishing community.

Commercial Litigation
Dan has extensive business management experience and experience in representing small businesses or corporations in breach of contract claims and other business torts. He is a member of an experienced team of litigators in the firm’s San Diego office.

With years of experience as a project manager on large commercial, FAA and military construction projects, Dan can provide a myriad of legal services for clients in the construction industry, ranging from transactions to litigation. Dan has significant experience in negotiating American Institute of Architects (AIA) contracts on behalf of general contractors, negotiating government contracts, crafting private cost-plus agreements on behalf of general contractors or owners’ representatives, drafting subcontracts, managing breach of contract issues, resolving disputes between owners or architects and general contractors, and resolving disputes between general contractors and subcontractors.

Dan is a member a team of established litigators in the firm’s San Diego office, regularly defending public and privately held corporations and their officers or directors in a vast array of securities proceedings.
