Daniel F. Flores Partner

chambers2014Daniel Flores, leader of the firm’s Financial Services practice, has gathered a team of prominent, seasoned attorneys to represent the firm’s financial institution clients. Their areas of specialization were selected to address all legal needs along the financial services continuum, with direct lines to other firm practices as required.

Dan focuses primarily in the area of creditors’ rights, concentrating on loan work-out and restructuring, commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters. He is experienced in all aspects of state and federal court litigation, including defensive litigation and actions to enforce promissory notes and guarantees, mortgage foreclosure proceedings and replevin actions. Dan also represents clients in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including matters related to use of cash collateral, asset sales, stay relief motions, assumption or rejection of executory contracts and unexpired leases and plan confirmation.

Dan’s substantial knowledge and understanding of the financial industry stems in part from his ten-year career as an in-house litigation counsel. As a result of that experience, he is uniquely attuned to the day-to-day business pressures his clients face, and he uses that insight in recommending a practical and cost-effective course of action or legal strategy.

Areas of Focus

Commercial Loan Documentation
Dan also represents banks, lessors and asset-based lenders in all aspects of commercial loan document preparation, including syndicated, asset-based and commercial mortgage loan transactions.

Trust & Estate / Administration & Litigation
Many of the matters Dan addresses in his practice arise from the management and administration of trusts and estates, including the duties and liabilities of trustees and executors. He works with his clients to efficiently administer trusts and estates and, where necessary, to seek court intervention and guidance in connection with the fulfillment of their duties and responsibilities as trustee or executor.
