David Gerald Williams Associate




David Williams is a litigator who practices in civil matters with an emphasis on construction, product liability, premises liability, and trucking and transportation law. He has extensive experience in wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims. In every case, David strives to find the most efficient and effective strategy to resolve disputes. David has represented clients in both state and federal court, including the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

David is very attentive to his cases and has a unique talent for finding obscure legal details and facts that often reduce his clients’ legal exposure. If trial is inevitable, he always is prepared to zealously represent his client and is adept at concisely presenting complicated factual circumstances for the finder of fact. 

David joined Wilson Elser after six years with several Raleigh firms, where he gained experience handling a variety of matters, including construction and transportation cases as well as transactional and employment matters, including industry-specific contract issues. While in law school, David clerked at the Wake County District Attorney’s Office in Raleigh, NC.

Obtained Summary Judgment in a $300,000 construction defect matter.

Obtained summary judgment and dismissal of subsequent appeal in premises liability case.

Represented nationwide child care business in common law trademark case in district court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Represented a country club in a swimming pool wrongful death matter.
