Deborah Stein handles professional liability matters and excels in devising, implementing and directing insurance coverage and defense strategies on complex and high-exposure mass tort claims, including sexual molestation and abuse claims against businesses, government agencies, religious organizations and schools. Deborah specializes in matters filed under the Child Victims Act in New York, and is a formidable player in developing negotiation strategies to resolve or settle disputes at arbitrations and mediations nationwide. 

In addition, Deborah handles liability claims against nonprofit organizations, including cooperatives, associations, school boards, hospitals, and religious and charitable institutions. The firm’s national team of D&O attorneys combines delivery of comprehensive, cost-effective legal services with a well-managed client experience. Deborah began her legal career with Wilson Elser before working 18 years in-house for a large insurance company; she returned to the firm in 2019. In her previous position, she collaborated with government relations staff, actuaries and senior management to assess potential exposure, monitor judicial trends and propose language for legislative amendments.
