Dirk Muse is an experienced and aggressive trial lawyer. He prides himself on being a vigorous advocate for his clients and understands the nuances and significance of their interests. 

Dirk approaches each new case by assessing likely exposure, developing resolution strategies, identifying strengths and weaknesses of the claim, and then applying the necessary tactics to accomplish a successful settlement or trial outcome. One of Dirk’s strengths is his ability to relate to his clients and help guide them through the complex litigation process. He is also an effective manager, relying on his years of experience to provide clients with cost-effective resolutions to their disputes. 

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Dirk was a shareholder for a Seattle defense litigation firm providing insurance carriers and private clients with high-quality representation in all aspects of civil defense litigation.

Dirk is experienced in the defense of architects, engineers, construction managers and design builders through the phases of construction litigation, including contract interpretations, claims avoidance, litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. He has been litigating in this area for more than 20 years, including representing design professionals in connection with various construction failures to delay claims involving construction management.

Construction / Construction Defect
Dirk has defended general contractors, subcontractors, commercial and residential construction firms, and construction managers primarily in Washington. His extensive experience includes contract disputes, indemnification and insurance coverage issues, as well as complex multiparty, high-exposure construction site injury and construction defect claims. 

Transportation
Dirk is experienced in defending companies and drivers in connection with motor vehicle and trucking collision cases of all sizes, emphasizing cases involving catastrophic injury and death.
