James W. Kachadoorian Partner

Jim Kachadoorian focuses his trial practice on the defense of hospitals and health care professionals in state and federal medical malpractice litigation. Drawing on his background as a former assistant district attorney, Jim also represents hospital clients and their satellite facilities in the investigation of assaults and other alleged criminal conduct by their employees.

With 20 years of experience in the medical malpractice field, Jim has tried to verdict dozens of personal injury and wrongful death cases on behalf of major New York metropolitan hospitals and their physicians and insurance carriers. A number of these cases have involved claims by athletes against orthopedic surgeons and other medical professionals alleging career-ending injuries. Jim also provides value-added services to help clients avoid litigation, including presenting periodic in-services to medical and nursing staff, conducting mock trials as part of residency training programs, and advising risk management committees on litigation and coverage issues.

After law school, Jim served for five years as an assistant district attorney in the Bronx County, NY, District Attorney’s Office, of which he spent 18 months in the arson/homicide unit and a year as liaison to the New York City Department of Corrections responsible for all homicides, escapes, assaults and related medical clinic cases at Riker’s Island.
