Jerome Bivona Associate




Jerome Bivona assists clients in preventing, mitigating and managing exposure to liability through risk, crises and claims management while litigating these cases. He defends the firm’s clients, working diligently to achieve the best result for the firm and its clients. 

Jerome defends property owners, managers and retailers in premises liability matters involving personal injury and property damage claims and in general liability and labor law matters arising from construction-site accidents. He also handles premises liability matters for real estate clients, including the commercial, residential, hospitality and retail sectors. In addition, Jerome represents commercial transport companies in automobile liability claims arising from vehicular accidents involving their drivers. Jerome also defends environmental claims arising from oil spills that occur during the delivery process. 

Before joining Wilson Elser, Jerome was an Assistant District Attorney at the King’s County District Attorney’s Office. He served as a felony assistant, prosecuting and managing a rotating caseload of more than 100 felony criminal cases, from arraignment to final disposition. Jerome presented felony cases and evidentiary investigations to the Grand Jury, including but not limited to attempted murder, gun possession, reckless endangerment, robbery, burglary and assault. He also conducted numerous pre-trial evidentiary hearings and assisted trials to verdict. Notably, Jerome conducted one of the first virtual criminal trials in the State of New York during the COVID-19 pandemic, and drafted indictments, internal memoranda, search warrants, and subpoenas for DNA and digital evidence.
