Jessica Beauvais practices in the areas of construction /law labor and premises and general liability. She has provided representation on behalf of property owners, general contractors and subcontractors. Jessica engages in various aspects of litigation, including fact investigation, depositions, motion practice and all aspects of trial work. Jessica also has experience defending an internationally known manufacturer of elevators and escalators against premises liability and personal injury claims for negligent maintenance and repairs, device malfunctions and latent defect.

Representative Matters

Obtained summary judgment in favor of defendants premises owner and employer dismissing plaintiff's claims under sections 240, 241(6) and 200 of the New York Labor Law, demonstrating that plaintiff was not engaged in any activity protected under the Labor Law and was barred by the exclusivity provision of Workers' Compensation section 29 as a borrowed / special employee.

Obtained summary judgment dismissing plaintiff's claims for personal injury sustained in a slip-and-fall accident pursuant to storm-in-progress theory, which was affirmed on appeal by the First Department.
