Jianlin Song is a consummate litigator who has built a national practice defending health care and life sciences clients in high-stakes, “bet-the-company” matters during her distinguished 20-year career. She has extensive experience representing nursing homes, residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs), assisted-living communities, senior living operators, and substance abuse rehabilitation centers in elder abuse, negligence, wrongful death, and regulatory enforcement actions. Jianlin is frequently entrusted with cases involving catastrophic injuries, punitive damage exposure, and multimillion-dollar demands, and is known for her ability to drive cases to early, favorable resolution or defend them aggressively through dispositive motions and trial.

Additionally, Jianlin has defended numerous manufacturers against product liability claims across a wide spectrum of life science products, including medical devices, dental products, dietary supplements, and other regulated products. Clients value Jianlin’s strategic judgment, command of medical evidence, and ability to dismantle inflated damages theories driven by questionable expert opinions.

In addition to her litigation practice, Jianlin regularly advises domestic and international clients on regulatory compliance, including FDA requirements and related life sciences regulations. She is a frequent author and speaker on health care and life sciences issues, recognized for her ability to integrate regulatory insight with practical litigation strategy.

Jianlin began her professional career as a physician, graduating from one of China's top medical schools. Her rigorous medical training and clinical experience give her a rare and powerful perspective in the courtroom, enabling her to analyze complex medical issues with precision and translate them persuasively for judges, juries, and opposing counsel. Jianlin’s dual background uniquely positions her to represent companies and professionals across the life sciences and health care industries.

Song and Parikh Prevail on a Demurrer in Organ Donation Litigation

Jianlin Song (Partner-San Francisco) and Trishala Parikh (Associate-San Francisco) obtained dismissal with prejudice for two nationally recognized nonprofit eye bank clients on a demurrer in the Superior Court of Solana County, California. The case involved allegations of unauthorized organ donation arising from a highly sensitive end-of-life situation. The court sustained our demurrer in full, dismissing negligence claims against our clients without leave to amend and concluding that the plaintiffs could not state a viable cause of action as a matter of law. The plaintiff's motion for reconsideration was denied.
