Joseph M. Morgese Partner



Joseph Morgese focuses his practice in the areas of general liability, commercial litigation and professional liability. Joseph also defends sexual abuse claims against institutional and individual clients.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Joseph practiced general liability defense work with a regional firm, following his clerkship with the Honorable Mary F. Thurber, J.S.C., in the Chancery Division, Family Part and the Law Division, Civil Part of the Bergen Vicinage. Joseph also worked as a law clerk for the Broward County School Board, Office of General Counsel, the nation’s sixth largest public school district. He also served as a law clerk to the Office of the State Attorney in Florida’s 17th Judicial Circuit, in the Sex Crimes Unit.

Joseph serves as an undergraduate and graduate adjunct professor at New Jersey’s Montclair State University in the Political Science & Law Department, where he has taught “Conflict and Its Resolution” and “Statutory & Regulatory Analysis.” Joseph was selected to deliver the graduate address at commencement in the master’s program at Montclair State University on behalf of the graduate students. As an undergraduate, he ran a successful write-in campaign for a position on his hometown board of education at the age of 18, making him the youngest board member elected in the State of New Jersey to a three-year term.
