Krista Stoumbos is an accomplished litigator who has successfully completed more than 45 jury trials. She has extensive mediation, complex litigation and commercial litigation experience. Krista defends companies and individuals sued in transportation, toxic tort (talc and asbestos litigation), products liability, premises liability, professional liability, personal injury and commercial litigation matters. She also provides general business counseling and risk management advice.
Krista has practiced in courts throughout California and Illinois, excelling in an expansive range of civil and criminal matters. Her diverse experience allows her to defend a case from all angles, continuously assessing the risks and benefits associated with bringing a case to trial. Krista’s strategic prowess allows her to appropriately leverage strengths and circumvent weaknesses in settlement negotiations, mediations and arbitrations. She creates exit strategies at an early stage of litigation to obtain favorable resolution terms for her clients.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Krista worked for an insurance defense firm with offices in California and Illinois, where she handled many types of cases including wrongful death, product liability, transportation, legal malpractice, broker liability, real estate agent liability and other general liability matters. She also served as an Assistant Public Defender for Lake County, Illinois.
Outside of the courtroom, Krista takes advantage of every opportunity for a new adventure. She loves to travel and is an avid patron of the culinary and performing arts.
