LaKeisha Forté Wells Associate




LaKeisha Forté Wells represents insurers in first-party litigation stemming from commercial property losses  obtaining excellent results for her clients, including dismissal on summary judgment and agreed dismissals with no payment by clients. She also represents insurers and corporate clients in a variety of complex litigation matters.

LaKeisha is responsible for taking and defending depositions, advocating at hearings and mediations, and attending client meetings. She has negotiated favorable settlements in numerous cases, including several multimillion-dollar matters for insurers. LaKeisha has obtained summary judgment for several clients and at trial she has drafted and successfully argued various trial motions, including motions for directed verdict; conducted direct and cross examinations of key fact and expert witnesses; and handled charge conferences.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, LaKeisha gained a firm understanding of the insurance industry and coverage analysis as a personal lines fire underwriter for State Farm Insurance. She also acquired unique federal court insight and valuable litigation experience when she served as law clerk to the Honorable Sam A. Lindsay, Northern District of Texas.
