Lauren M. Gibbons Associate




Lauren Gibbons manages and litigates general liability, medical malpractice, insurance defense, and commercial matters in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. Lauren also defends health care providers against state health board claims. Lauren joined Wilson Elser from a Virginia-based firm where she managed a diverse caseload of insurance defense work and served as first chair on several district and circuit court trials.

Following law school, Lauren served as a clerk for Judge J. Barry Hughes (Ret.) on the Circuit Court for Carroll County, Maryland. She later practiced workers’ compensation and general liability defense at a Baltimore-area firm.

During law school, Lauren interned for Administrative Judge Marcella A. Holland (Ret.) on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and worked as a law clerk for a criminal defense firm. Lauren served as a Rule 16 Student Attorney in the University of Baltimore Disability Law Clinic, where she represented patients during their involuntary civil commitment hearings at Sheppard-Enoch Pratt Psychiatric Hospital. Lauren was a Snyder Litigation Center Student Fellow. She also served as Treasurer of the University of Baltimore Health Law Association and as a Law Student Board Member of the Maryland Crime Victims’ Resource Center (MCVRC).
