Mark T. Newman Of Counsel

Mark Newman focuses his practice on the defense of premises liability, labor law, construction litigation, subrogation and complex general liability matters. Starting in 2005, Mark dedicated his career to the vigorous representation of landlord/owners, property managers, general contractors, subcontractors and Fortune 1000 companies for claims brought against them in state and federal court. By implementing a systematic but malleable approach to the management of each case, Mark has shown the ability to handle day-to-day operations while keeping the client’s long-term goals top of mind.

Early in his career, as an associate at Wilson Elser, Mark was selected as trial counsel for one of the firm’s largest clients, giving him the opportunity to serve as first chair for a trial in which he obtained a defense verdict after three weeks on a case valued in excess of $1.1 million.

On the consulting side, Mark managed and oversaw the administration and coordination of legal projects in the Metro New York area for in-house legal departments and law firms, including the facilitation of large-scale reviews of documents in the course of litigation, e-discovery matters, information governance and all projects requiring legal project staffing and management consulting resources. Mark also served for two years on the board of trustees of the Kenya Education Fund, the mission of which is to break the cycle of poverty through education by providing scholarships for children to attend secondary (high) school − a privilege and not a right in Kenya.
