Massiel L. Sanchez Associate




Massiel Sanchez focuses her practice on intellectual property matters on a global basis and general liability. She has experience in the prosecution and management of large global trademark portfolios; trademark enforcement proceedings, including opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Trial and Appeal Board; and management of trademark enforcement investigations and proceedings in foreign territories. Her experience includes representing domestic and international entities throughout various phases of trademark, copyright, false advertising, unfair competition and related commercial litigation. Massiel has handled pre-suit investigations, discovery and motion practice in connection with the prosecution and defense of actions on behalf of clients in a variety of industries, including technology, consumer products, medical devices, fashion and media. 

In addition to intellectual property matters, Massiel frequently assists in defense litigation representing companies and individuals in tort and contract matters, including general liability, premises liability, professional liability, products liability and breach of contracts. She handles all aspects of cases from inception through discovery, motion practice and support for partners at trial. 

Massiel graduated from law school with a concentration in Intellectual Property and authored “Section 43(a) in a Vacuum: Cleaning Up False Advertising in an Unfair Competition Mess,” New England Law Review, 2017−2018. During law school, she worked as a judicial intern at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and served as a teaching assistant in the Trademarks and Unfair Competition course.
