Mat Kresz Associate



Mat Kresz maintains a practice primarily focused on cybersecurity and data privacy matters, including cyber risk management, cyber breach and cyber litigation. Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Mat was an intellectual property attorney at a consulting firm that provides expert insights and scientific solutions to a wide range of clients in the legal profession and insurance industry, property owners/ managers, construction companies, design firms and government agencies.

Before entering law school, Mat served as chief information officer (CIO) at a leading transportation, logistics and technology solutions provider, supporting clients within the retail, financial, marketing and consumer packaged goods industries. He also held roles in engineering, technology, e-commerce and leadership. Mat’s participation in the acquisition of a business, continued leadership with technology contracts, and subsequent involvement with advertising law matters crystalized his decision to extend his career in the direction of law.

At law school, Mat was a founding member of the Digital Cyber Law Organization at DePaul University College of Law, and guest-lectured on the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the CAN-SPAM Act and PCI-DSS.
