Matthew A. McDaniel Associate

Matthew McDaniel helps public- and private-sector clients identify and prevent exposures and, if they occur, capably manage reaction and recovery. He uses a carefully conceived resolution plan designed to determine likely exposure, identify options and ultimately conclude in outcomes that adhere to prescribed guidelines. Matthew understands that clients prefer quick and cost-effective strategies for complex and potentially protracted liability cases and does his best to accelerate turnaround through procedural dismissals, substantive dismissals, successful tenders and negotiated settlements.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Matthew worked at a regional law firm in general civil litigation and served as director of business development. He previously served as law clerk to the Honorable Charles J. Peters on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Matthew was endorsed by the Baltimore Sun and the Governor of Maryland when he ran for Baltimore City Council in 2016.

While in law school, Matthew worked for the Economic Crimes Unit of the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office. He then served as a law clerk for the State’s Attorney’s Office in the Special Victims Unit, assisting in the prosecution of child abuse, domestic violence and claims of sexual assault.
