Michael J. Kolesin Associate




Michael Kolesin focuses his practice on civil litigation, representing lenders, mortgage servicing companies, creditors and fiduciaries in litigation, complex bankruptcy and foreclosure defense. Michael has experience in corporate governance, nonprofit entities, labor and employment, and commercial litigation. 

During law school, Michael was a teaching assistant for Legal Writing and Analysis and assisted the International Vis Moot team with the 25th Willem Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition, where Pitt Law placed in the top of 32 out of 357 law schools. Michael also worked for the University of Pittsburgh's Athletic Compliance Department, where he advised NCAA Division 1 staff on rule interpretations and recruiting practices. Michael gained invaluable trial experience while clerking at Allegheny and San Diego Offices of the Public Defender, where he defended felony adult and juvenile cases. 

Before law school, Michael worked with two of the top ten title companies in the nation, where he held positions in the loan closing and accounting departments. Michael handled a myriad of loan closing issues related to chain of title, subordination and escrow disputes.
