Michael Garrity concentrates his practice in insurance defense, commercial litigation, and complex tort and general casualty, with an emphasis on general liability. He represents insurance companies and their insureds in a wide array of civil litigation matters.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Mike spent 10 years as staff counsel for one of the largest insurance companies in the United States where he handled a sizeable caseload of motor vehicle and premises liability cases. He represented insured clients in numerous jury trials in Massachusetts district and superior courts, as well as at mediations and arbitrations. Mike's dual license also allowed him to gain experience defending clients in the courts of Rhode Island. His experience as staff counsel strengthens his understanding of the insurance business, from procedures to policy language, and contributes to his effectiveness as a litigator.

Representative Matters
Successfully defended an individual insured in Plymouth Superior Court in a catastrophic injury case where the plaintiff claimed in excess of $500,000 in medical expenses. Convinced the jury that his client held no liability with regard to the subject incident and the jury agreed, returning a defense verdict in client's favor.
