Michelle M. Byers Associate




Michelle Byers manages and executes all phases of defense including pre-suit investigations, discovery, motion practice, and trial in a variety of matters, including employment, land use, insurance coverage, construction, product liability, civil rights and breach of contract. In the product liability area, Michelle has successfully handled catastrophic injury cases brought against manufacturers and distributors of motor vehicles. 

Before joining Wilson Elser Michelle worked at a mid-sized Boston firm specializing in trial and business law. During law school, she served an Honors Judicial Internship for a semester at the Massachusetts Superior Court.

Representative Matters

Obtained summary judgment in Connecticut Superior Court for client accused of interference with business relations in development of minor league ballpark. 

Successfully opposed motions to dismiss claims for ADA violations and employment discrimination. 

Member of trial team securing defense verdict for automotive manufacturer in case involving defective airbag claims. 

Obtained favorable ruling in ultra-hazardous evidentiary hearing declaring client's conduct (natural gas air blowers in power plant construction) not hazardous. 

Secured dismissal of consumer protection claim, limiting insurer's exposure to treble damages.
