R. J. Blue is a board-certified trial lawyer with nearly 20 years of experience, including 12 years working in-house with major insurance companies. R. J. represents businesses and individuals primarily in the defense of claims related to general liability, automobile liability, premises liability and personal injury. He also has experience defending insurance companies in first-party litigation, including underinsured and uninsured motorist claims.

R. J. has tried nearly 100 jury trials to verdict in Texas courts and has second-chaired dozens of additional trials. R. J. also has taught legal education courses on trial advocacy, jury selection, evidence, trial technology and the use of persuasive psychology during trial.

R. J. is considered to the “go-to” attorney for unique legal issues and defenses, often requiring research and unconventional arguments. In responding to this call, R. J. successfully defended cases by arguing loss of consciousness as a defense to negligence, lacking foreseeability for wrongful death and civil immunity for the justifiable use of deadly force. R. Secured favorable settlement in case involving serious injuries, after filing motions for summary judgment, arguing driver’s sudden loss of consciousness was a bar to liability.

Secured summary judgment on premises liability case involving injuries sustained by realtor while showing property.

Secured $20,000 plaintiff’s verdict against $770,000 sought by plaintiff during trial, including $140,000 for future surgery.
