He has successfully handled insurance matters involving construction defects, catastrophic accidents, business disputes, and commercial and personal lines insurance. 

Liability Defense
In defense cases, Robert has represented all manner of businesses and individuals in successfully defending their interests. These include construction and construction defect disputes, premises and product liability, and employment wage-and-hour claims, both individual and class action suits. He has defended employers and management personnel in sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation actions. Representative Matters

Received a Judgment of Dismissal upon granting of a motion to quash based on sovereign immunity of an employment discrimination claim against an Indian Tribal health organization formed by a consortium of Indian tribes and bands. 

Obtained summary judgment of an insurance coverage suit arising from a construction action and successfully defended the appeal before the California Court of Appeal. 

Obtained dismissal on demurrer of an insurance coverage action by an attorney asserting the insurer's defense obligation for a suit involving construction of a home. 

Obtained a favorable settlement of a wage-and-hour class action suit involving workers at a restaurant in which the settlement amount was a minor fraction of the claimed damages. 

Successfully defended a business owner in an administrative hearing with the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement from a complaint by an individual who claimed to have not been paid for time worked. 

Obtained affirmance by the California Court of Appeal of summary judgment for an excess liability insurer of an action claiming breach of the duty to defend and indemnify in an underlying bodily injury action.
