Shirley Karasick practices in the areas of commercial litigation and professional malpractice defense, and represents accounting firms and other business entities in connection with various claims and disputes.
Shirley has represented a variety of businesses and individuals in her legal career, including but not limited to telecommunication companies, banks, corporations, restaurants, medical professionals, contractors, property management companies and guardianship under Article 81 of New York's Mental Hygiene Law.
Shirley has experience handling many types of civil matters in the areas of landlord-tenant, employment law, leasing, rent regulation, real estate disputes, class actions, property damage, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, labor law, medical malpractice and Article 81 guardianship matters. She has handled all aspects of litigation, including investigation/ pre-claim, motion practice, court appearance, client counseling, conducting and defending depositions, and preparing/arguing motions for argument in federal and state courts.
During law school, Shirley served as a student mediator in the New York Law School Mediations Clinic and represented individuals before the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board in connection with their claims for unemployment benefits. Upon graduation, she was awarded a Public Service Certificate for her pro bono work.
