Sophia Herbst litigates matters including medical malpractice, professional liability and complex commercial cases. She joined Wilson Elser from the Washington, D.C. offices of an international firm, where she handled commercial litigation, insurance coverage, government contracts and more. 

As a Litigation Fellow at the D.C. Housing Authority (DCHA), Sophia represented the agency in administrative hearings, Office of Administrative Hearings cases and D.C. Superior Court Cases. She successfully argued for dismissal and against joinder in two Organization of American Historians (OAH) cases, and represented DCHA in mediations in the D.C. Superior Court’s Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division. 

Sophia served as a Judicial Fellow for Judge Charles N. Brower in his capacity as an international arbitrator, and as a student attorney with the Criminal Appeals and Post-Conviction Services Clinic at George Washington University School of Law, where she represented clients in their criminal appeals. She also served as a summer intern for commercial and investor-state arbitrations at a law firm in Paris, France.
