Vernée Pelage handles the pre-litigation, litigation, settlement, trial and appeal of cases brought against municipalities, government entities and public officials. Her caseload predominantly includes matters involving civil rights defense, police liability and employment discrimination. Vernée also is experienced in land use, education law and complex tort matters, as well as other high-stakes claims against municipalities.

While in law school, Vernée amassed an impressive record of awards and distinctions, including founding member of the Coalition for Social Justice; recipient of the American Bar Association/Bureau of National Affairs Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law; the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Copyright Law; the St. Vincent De Paul Economic Justice Clinic Award; the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Economic Justice Clinic; and recognition as a Ron Brown Scholar.
