Victoria M. Cowan Associate




Victoria Cowan vigorously defends clients in matters involving coverage disputes, personal injury, premises liability, wrongful death, and negligent training and supervision of employees. Victoria's well-rounded litigation and legislative experiences contribute to her ability to interpret, explain and apply laws effectively and efficiently for her clients' benefit.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Victoria worked at a prominent New England law firm where she represented large retail companies, construction businesses, small corporations, hotel management companies and nonprofit organizations in a variety of civil litigation defense matters, including catastrophic premises liability, construction litigation and automobile litigation.

Victoria also served as a Legal Fellow on the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, where she worked with legislative counsel to craft amendments to proposed laws, tracked relevant policy developments and helped prepare for congressional hearings.

While in law school, Victoria took every opportunity to hone her skills. She worked as a research assistant for two prominent tax professors, a legal and policy intern for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, a judicial intern for the Honorable Juan R. Torruella , and an intern for the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary. Victoria demonstrated her commitment to the community by completing more than 100 hours of pro bono service, earning a Certificate of Pro Bono Excellence upon graduation.
