William Cusack represents employers in all areas of employment law, including race, national origin, age, gender, pregnancy and disability discrimination; retaliation; labor relations; ERISA benefits;  wage and hour claims; federal and state whistle-blower protection; Family and Medical Leave Act, Equal Pay Act, Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act claims; workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance and other types of employment-based disputes.

Will has extensive experience representing cooperative housing corporations, boards of directors, retirement communities and public housing authorities against fair housing and discrimination claims. Will regularly counsels housing associations on best practices, trains personnel on relevant antidiscrimination laws and policies. He works with clients to reduce exposure to housing and discrimination claims.

Will regularly counsels management on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, from hire to separation, including employment applications, non-compete agreements, restrictive covenants, drug and alcohol testing, employee handbooks, collective bargaining agreements, personnel policies, affirmative action plans, workplace investigations, discipline, employment terminations, reductions in force and separation agreements. Will also assists federal contractors in the development and implementation of affirmative action programs (AAPs) and provides advice and counsel to employers undergoing Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and state and local compliance reviews.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser in 2008, Will represented individuals and small businesses in two boutique law firms and interned with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board, Division of Administrative Law Judges.
