Billy Leslie represents established businesses and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation. His practice focuses on the defense of claims related to general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, and personal injury, as well as workers' compensation disputes. Additionally, Billy has handled cases for municipal and county clients in a wide range of litigation, including actions brought under the Tennessee Governmental Tort Liability Act (GTLA), Section 1983 claims, and various workers' compensation claims. Well-versed in tackling complex legal challenges, Billy provides clients with innovative and strategic counsel, enabling them to make better-informed decisions and achieve their desired outcomes efficiently and cost-effectively.
Before joining Wilson Elser, Billy worked for a small municipal liability insurance defense firm. Previously, he gained valuable experience as Associate General Counsel for the State of Tennessee in the Departments of Human Services and Commerce and Insurance. Billy also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Timothy L. Easter of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. Prior to his law career, Billy worked in financial services for 25 years.
Billy is active in the Nashville Bar Association and currently serves on the Board as Assistant Treasurer. In addition, Billy is a past president of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and remains active in the TBA, currently serving as a District 5 Representative on the Board of Governors.
