Ian Stewart (Partner-Los Angeles) will join a panel of attorneys with experience representing owners and operators of legal cannabis businesses for the Los Angeles County Bar Association webinar, “It’s Legal. Is It Ethical? Navigating Ethical Concerns While Representing Cannabis Businesses,” on November 2, 2020. The panel will discuss ethical issues in light of the fact that cannabis remains a federally illegal substance and in light of recent guidance from the State Bar of California that allows attorneys to practice in the field if they follow established criteria. Ian and the other panel members also will address various competency issues for cannabis attorneys, ethical pitfalls that may arise during representation and other practical guidance on responding to unique client issues for cannabis businesses.
