Ian Stewart (Partner-Los Angeles) will join a panel on “Products Liability & Dram Shop Liability” at the Perrin Emerging Legal Trends in the Cannabis Industry Conference, to be held June 27, 2019, in San Francisco, California. The panel will discuss the unique product risks and potential litigation exposure of marijuana and CBD products. Topics to be addressed include the claims seen by the industry to date; cannabis product recalls; cannabis and CBD consumer class action exposures; litigation arising out of edible marijuana packaging and labeling; risk management for CBD products in light of FDA and state prohibitions on CBD in foods and supplements; and the emergence of onsite consumption lounges, or so-called “pot cafés,” and how the lack of state dram shop laws for marijuana may lead to liability exposure.
