Litigation Paralegal- Entry Level

Wilson Elser's Milwaukee office is looking for several entry- level paralegals to join our expanding Paralegal Service Center. This Paralegal Service Center supports a wide variety of practice areas, in all of our 37 national offices. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to learn civil litigation from the ground up. Recent graduates and those enrolled in a paralegal or legal studies program are encouraged to apply.

The Position

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor's degree; Paralegal Certificate or paralegal courses are a plus
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
  • Clear and effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands daily
  • Must be able to work independently and be proactive 

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare summary of deposition transcripts 
  • Assemble chronologies of pertinent facts and key documents, including medical records 
  • Prepare records, review and prepare exhibits, analyze medical records, trial preparation
  • Contact outside sources (government agencies, etc.) to obtain public information and review and analyze the same 
  • Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources of case information
  • Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties and co-defendants
  • Assist in document productions
  • Draft subpoenas, notices of deposition and pattern discovery requests
  • Conduct investigative research on opposing parties and expert witnesses 
  • Manage documents and organize case files
