Catherine Muhlenforth focuses her practice on commercial transportation litigation. She approaches every case with a proactive mindset, prioritizing early risk assessment and resolution strategies aligned with her clients’ goals. Catherine adeptly handles all phases of litigation, from investigation through trial preparation, emphasizing a strategic approach to dispositive motion practice and conducting depositions while also ensuring regulatory compliance.

Before joining Wilson Elser, Catherine worked at a boutique law firm, where her practice concentrated on insurance defense litigation, including premises liability, labor law, motor vehicle accidents, and personal injury matters, as well as employment discrimination and education law. She began her career with a New York firm, serving as general counsel for numerous K-12 school districts across Long Island, New York, where she advised boards of education and district administrators on a broad range of education law matters, including regulatory compliance, pupil personnel, and employee discipline.

In law school, Catherine participated in the Pro Bono Scholars Program, enabling her to sit for the New York Bar Exam while still a student and devote her final semester to public service work with the Children’s Law Bureau of the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society.
