Cody Valdez represents companies of all sizes across a broad range of data privacy and cybersecurity matters. His practice focuses on incident response related to actual or suspected cybersecurity incidents or data breaches, ranging from business email compromises to sophisticated ransomware attacks. Cody advises clients on their legal obligations under U.S. and international data privacy and breach notification laws and assists them in devising crisis communication and notification strategies.

Cyber Incident Response
During his nearly seven years as a Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Cody investigated a wide array of cybersecurity incidents across various industry sectors – including financial institutions, health care providers, and internet service providers – for regulatory compliance. He also assisted with drafting and revising the implementing regulations for the New Jersey Data Privacy Act.
