Dominik Cvitanovic (Partner-New Orleans, LA) and Joseph Fusz (Of-Counsel-Chicago, IL) will present current threats and trends in cybersecurity and data protection, providing an overview of the most common cyber incidents. Dominick and Joseph will also cover important privacy and security considerations, including maintaining accurate digital and physical device inventories, implementing credential controls, and segmenting administrator responsibilities. This session will highlight the importance of developing and implementing an Incident Response Plan and the advantages of working with outside counsel to respond to cybersecurity incidents. They will consider how to reduce liability through annual reviews of security risk, internal practices, and vendor contracts, along with practical ways to mitigate cyberattacks through continued education and institutional resiliency.
