People: B. Otis Felder

Otis Felder (Partner-Los Angeles, CA) will participate on the panel “From Triage to Settlement: How Practical AI Advancements Are Transforming Claims Adjusting” at the 2026 Annual Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance Conference, to be held March 25–27, 2026, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Otis, who is enrolled in AI programs both at MIT and Stanford Business School and working with Harvey’s education initiative at USC Gould School of Law, and other industry leaders will gather to chart the next phase of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled claims handling, bringing clarity to what’s working, what to pilot next, and how to balance modernization with sound governance.

As AI continues to reshape the insurance industry, this session will spotlight how carriers, third-party administrators, counsel, and insurtech partners are deploying it to modernize claims operations end-to-end. Panelists will explore how emerging tools are accelerating first notice of loss triage, strengthening coverage and liability evaluations, reducing leakage, and improving policyholder experiences – particularly within construction and property lines such as catastrophe response, builder’s risk, and defect claims. In addition, the discussion will address some of the industry’s most pressing challenges: governing AI responsibly, mitigating bias, and navigating evolving regulatory expectations. Speakers will offer guidance on how organizations can maintain a defensible, human-in-the-loop model that preserves quality and compliance while still delivering meaningful efficiency gains.
